My Camera and Eye...

When I was a kid, I saw pictures of a trip someone went on and became enthralled with what I perceived to be such a supreme and beautiful tiny little world. I decided if they could do it, so could I, and have been fascinated with photography ever since. Working for my college newspaper and becoming the Chief Photographer in my third year made me think this photography thing was a pretty cool area to be involved in. The ensuing (and I'm not telling how many) years have rarely seen the camera far from my inner or outer sight.

Many of my older images are from the years of shooting conventional slides and negatives. But they are capable of scanning quite beautifully and I've made some lovely things with them. And now, thanks to developing technology, I've added the advantage that the mega-pixel cameras bring to the format.

Residing in Maryland with my husband of 15 years and recently replaced betta-fighting fish named Duke Too, the other two members of the household are the two canines featured in the Bank check images, who'll pose for the promise of just about any food group on hand. (Except cinnamon Altoids, of which I won't share.)

23+ YEARS EXPERIENCE IN ADVERTISING & PRINT PRODUCTION...

Along with the ever-present need to do SOMETHING with pictures, the majority of my working life has been spent in Print Production; eleven years using conventional tools (xacto knives, rapidiographs, rubber cement, etc.) and over twelve years playing with my beloved Macintosh and assorted software packages and peripherals.

Experience includes the following areas: Photography (especially printing my own images to be used in various projects); e-commerce and web design; the design and creation of specification-sensitive personal and business bank checks and forms, checkbook covers, address labels, logos, brochures; digital textbook production; design and production of catalogs for retail, mail-order and business-to-business industries; design and production of greeting cards and assorted stationery items; creating corporate identity packages; constructing and carrying out ideas for display and presentation material; have authored over seven training manuals, and more.

Some of it was even fun...
